City Network, the leading provider of infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) based on OpenStack, today announced a global partner program for its IaaS City Cloud. With the partner program, City Network is increasing its focus on City Cloud, a service available worldwide. As a recognized technology leader and gold member of the OpenStack Foundation, the new partner program enables more organisations to leverage the open and flexible IaaS City Cloud.

– As we all are aware of, IT is crucial for companies to run and develop their business. At the same time, we are living in a turbulent era where development is fast paced and companies needs to be adaptable to quickly change course. Being locked in a IT platform can be quite devastating to the company’s continued success. Therefore, it feels very good that, through the partner program, we can now offer more companies an open IT infrastructure that enables the business to quickly reschedule and compete with digitalization, says Johan Christenson, CEO and founder of City Network.

The partner program will be another key cornerstone in helping more organizations to benefit from the scalability, flexibility and openness in City Cloud. City Cloud can be used as IT infrastructure in public, private and hybrid cloud services. The service is aimed at all types of organizations, even for companies with extra high standards of security and compliance.

The program is developed as a response to the high demand that both system integrators and other consulting partners have to offer City Cloud as part of their delivery. The global program enables partners to offer City Cloud from City Networks’ 20+ data centers in Europe, Asia, North America and the Middle East.

City Cloud is based on OpenStack, an open and flexible platform.

– Developers, IT managers and CIOs around the world trust OpenStack for business-critical applications. One of the reasons adoption is growing at 44 percent year-over-year is that service providers are adding new options to simplify consumption. City Network is a great example, pioneering public and private community cloud models that bring OpenStack to new users, and their partner program is one more way they are expanding the footprint of OpenStack, said Jonathan Bryce, executive director at the OpenStack Foundation.
